quiet

It’s when the quiet settles in after a long day that I feel my body relax.  I can finally hear myself think.

If it’s naptime, I can write or work.  If it’s nighttime, I can curl up with a book or cuddle up with my husband.

But those quiet moments are so few and far between.  And when I find myself wishing for them in the midst of a busy day, it’s then I hear His whisper, “Quiet your heart.”

And my conscience pricks me, because what good are the quiet moments if I can’t carry their stillness throughout my day?

It might be in the quiet that I can hear myself think, but it’s in the noise that I can hear His voice the loudest.
