the blank post

Sometimes I open up a new post and start typing but realize I don’t really know what I’m trying to say.

So I click the “x” and write another post on another topic, because there are plenty of things I can write without needing to listen.

But that blank post?  It’s still in my head.

Because it’s not so much what I’m trying to write as what He is trying to tell me.

I turn to read the posts of others.  And words of truth—His Words—wash over me.

But a little voice whispers, Why do you even try to write, when all of these other writers have it all figured out?

The words of a friend—a gift from Him—answer back: “Keep writing, because you have to write to learn it for yourself”

So I keep writing.  And I keep listening.  And then I write some more.  Because it’s the only way I’ll find out what that blank post is supposed to say.

  1. It finally makes sense!!! Thank you! I have SO SO SO many times experienced the blank page syndrom, and I could never figure out what it was I was supposed to write yet it was always still there. It’s because of what HE’s trying to say! Ah – sigh of relief. Thank you! Hugs!

  2. Exactly. Yes.

“Keep writing because you need to learn it for yourself.” <–that is exactly what I needed to read today. Thank you.
