Are you overwhelmed by your WordPress website? Do you feel stuck in the technological learning curve?
Are you frustrated by terminology you don’t understand? Are plugin updates and HTML blocks paralyzing your progress?
I believe the tech side of your blog doesn’t have to keep you from writing.
Your blog should not add more stress to your life. You don’t need to stay up late working on your website unless you’re loving every minute of it.
What Bloggers Are Saying
“I like to believe I’m computer literate. But when the joy of writing ended in a technological battle, I knew I needed help. Gretchen brought my computer literacy up to date and remains my trusted technology resource.”
-Teresa Brouillette“Gretchen has the heart of a teacher and is gracious with those of us who do not speak code as a native language.”
-Susanne Maynes
What if someone took you step by step through each blogging process until it became second nature? What if you could login to your dashboard armed with a working knowledge of WordPress? Imagine having the confidence to operate your website with ease.
What if you had a mentor you could turn to when you were in over your head technically speaking? Imagine being able to turn over your website problems to someone with experience and expertise.
Hi, I’m Gretchen.
I have been the designated tech support for friends and family since dial-up internet. I made my grandma personalized tutorials to help bring her and Grandpa’s business into the digital age. At 19, my first real job was helping a state representative’s wife keep connected with their constituents over her new-fangled laptop. She called my step-by-step directions her “computer recipes”; I told her that as long as she didn’t put the computer in the oven, she’d be safe from meltdowns.
I started blogging in 2003 because I wanted to form a real time connection with the people who subscribed to my self-published magazine. I stayed up late at night learning HTML to create my website. My family viewed the hours I spent on the computer as a mysterious waste of time, but I pressed forward because when I write, I feel His pleasure.
As a young mom, time became the most challenging aspect of blogging because I didn’t have internet at home. I literally had to go to my neighbor’s to publish the posts I’d written at home on my couch while my babies slept. Eventually I developed the most efficient systems to get my blog on autopilot so that I would be free to write my heart out when the internet finally came to our little farm.
When my friends asked me questions about blogging, I started writing posts to help guide them through the technical aspects of WordPress. Now, I use my blog to help others who are in the same spot I once was. I love the challenge of putting technical jargon into plain English. I simplify blogging tasks into easy to follow, step-by-step instructions so that you can focus on what you do best: writing.
