Local networking might be harder than online interest networking, but the rewards can be a lot longer lasting than blog comments and followers…  Local Writing Groups likely will include a diverse crowd of writers, each at different spots in writing venues and responsibilities, accomplishments and aspirations, but united by their locale, their love of writing, and—hopefully—their trust in Jesus.

I have coffee with local writers and bloggers every other month.  I always leave refreshed, encouraged, and knowing I’m not alone.  It’s like a mini writer’s conference that only costs as much as a cup of coffee and the gas to get there.
