"My ABC of God loves me" #giveaway from @TommyNelson via @GretLouise“E, B, E, B.” He was saying each sound slowly, with great concentration when I found him. His finger tracing each letter, he was “reading” the brand name on his sandal strap. “E, B, E, B, C.”

He’s two years old with two big sisters who are learning their letters and sounds. And he’s determined to be every bit as big and studious as they are. Even if the only letters available are those on his shoes.

So of course he was excited to have a new book—with a handle, no less (books with handles are his absolute favorite)—that outlined his ABCs (or EBCs). My ABC of God loves me is a cute little rhyming book from Tommy Nelson, illustrated by Lara Ede. Each page highlights a letter and an attribute of God:

God is infinite
that’s bigger than the universe!
He’s taller than the mountains
and wider than the earth

Always thrilled with any book that has anything to do with school and reading, all three of our kiddoes love this book—and of course, their mommy does, too. My ABC of God loves me reinforces biblical truths while introducing alphabet letters and sounds. It’s sturdy, and it has a handle—a winner for any family library!

Tommy Nelson is giving away a copy of My ABC of God loves me to one of your kids, too!

  1. I don’t even remember learning my alphabet! But my little man is 3 and it’s fun teaching him!

  2. I don’t remember any books as a kid with the ABC’s… although I wouldn’t be surprised if my mom had at least one =)
This one sounds wonderful and if I dont’ win, will have to check it out for my 3 year old daughter who LOVES books and is learning the abc’s =)

  3. I don’t remember a book I learned the alphabet from. But I do remember using my mother’s old reader as she taught me to read. One of the first sentences was: Father is reading, mother is sewing. It’s a family joke now 😉

  4. Learning the alphabet was a long time ago for me, and I really don’t remember anything about it! Signing Time DVDs are really helping my 2 year old learn her alphabet, though. It’s crazy how much she absorbs, and so quickly!

  5. Learning my alphabet is much too long ago for me to remember, but I DO remember reading the first page of the McGuffey readers when I learned how to read! 🙂
