Rain for Roots: Big Stories for Little OnesWho died, but came alive again?
Who came to rescue you and win?
Who came to make all things brand new
Who did it all for love of you?

Sing and dance and leap and run
His name is Jesus, little one.

-“Jesus is Alive” on Big Stories for Little Ones by Rain for Roots

“Can you please turn on some kid music, mommy?”

“Kid music” is requested frequently in our home.  But when I’m asked to turn it on out in the kitchen (where there’s apparently more space to dance around than their bedroom), I’m a bit more picky about which “kid music” I choose.  It needs to be cheerful.  And easy-listening.  Especially since it will play about 6.5 times before I finally get around to changing CDs.

But I’ve left our latest favorite on repeat almost endlessly.  My kids love what they’ve termed “songs about Jesus” in Rain for Roots’ digital album Big Stories for Little Ones.  My almost-3-year-old’s favorite lines are “Sing and dance and leap and run…”, which she repeats as she sings and dances all around the house at high speed.

Big Stories for Little Ones is a delightful collection of 10 songs with big truths for little people.  The lyrics are written by Sally Lloyd-Jones, author of The Jesus Storybook Bible, in which “every story whispers His name.”  The same theme is ever-present in the rhymes from Sally’s Baby’s Hug-a-Bible that Rain for Roots has put to music—every song celebrates Jesus’ power, love, and care.

The music itself is fun and peppy while still being easy to listen to.  It’s even quiet enough to have on during little brother’s naptime!  Rain for Roots makes for a delightful combination of the traditional folk sound with new songs about an old Story.

He knows your name. He made your eyes.
He is your Shepherd, little lamb.
The King of Heaven
The Great I Am.

-“Jesus Loves Little Children” on Big Stories for Little Ones by Rain for Roots

The digital album debuted in May, and today, the CD itself releases.  In celebration, Rain for Roots is giving away a digital copy of their debut record to two of you, my readers (enter below)!  In addition, when you shop the bundles and gift-giving options in the Rain for Roots Store, you can use the code “GL” for a 10% discount.

”My kids love the fun music…and this mommy loves the gentle reminders to keep her eyes on Jesus and her little ones in His hands.”

Quiet enough to play during nap time, quality enough to play 6.5 times in a stretch? Sounds like a prettygg
