race

It’s a race.

We’re to run with perseverance.  And that might mean throwing off everything that hinders us.

We’re to run in such a way as to finish the race.  And that might mean strict training.

We’re to run a good race.  And that means not letting anyone cut in and get us off course.

We’re to run in such a way as to win the prize.  And that means testifying of His grace.

It’s a race.  But the race is not always to the swift

It might be necessary to slow down to win the prize.

(Five-Minute Friday: “race”)

  1. “It might be necessary to slow down to win the prize.” Such truth. Isn’t it just so hard to get that sometimes though? All my instincts tell me to run faster, live busier. Oh but to slow down and treasure the moments, to sit at His feet, how precious and vital that is.
